Experts at the Barcelona Institute of Dermatology say retinol has special properties that help fight acne, acne scars, and improve the texture and appearance of the skin.
Retinol is an active form of vitamin A that is soluble in fat or oil. It has antioxidant properties and is, therefore, most commonly used in many cosmetics to treat skin problems.
Experts point out that retinol can also stimulate collagen production, thereby slowing the aging process of the skin.
Scientists at the European Academy of Dermatology and Sexually Pathology stress that it can also help treat cells by increasing elasticity and skin thickness.
According to the study, the use of retinol twice a day effectively improved skin condition within six months.
However, experts also warn that some skin-sensitive people may find their skin red or inflamed after using skincare products that contain the ingredient.
It is important to note that for more effective results, treatment with higher concentrations of all-anti-vitamin A acid is permitted only after consulting a specialist.
